Rev. Dr. Majid Abel is the pastor in charge of the Naulakha Presbyterian church. He joined Naulakha Presbyterian Church as senior pastor on January 1, 2002 . Dr. Abel had previously been serving at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 5-Nabha Road , Lahore since April 1993-December 2001.

Dr. Abel was born on December 27, 1968, as the fourth child of Mr. B.M. Gill and Mrs. Surrayya Gill, in Gujranwala . He attributes his success in life to the dedication and hard work of his parents. He has three brothers and two sisters.

Dr. Abel holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Punjab , Master of Divinity from Gujranwala theological Seminary of Gujranwala, and Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry from Louisville Presbyterian Theological seminary of Louisville , Kentucky in USA.

In 1999 he married Hina, the daughter of Dr. David Sohail, director of Memorial Christian Hospital , Sialkot and Dr. Victoria David, professor at Fatima Jinnah Medical College . Mrs. Hina Abel is a graduate of Bellarmine University , Louisville , Kentucky , USA.

They have been blessed with two beautiful children namely, son Obed (7), and daughter Sofia (4). Obed is in grade 2 and Sofi is in Pre-School.

Besides looking after her children Mrs. Hina Abel serves as an adjunct faculty member at Kinnaird College for Women - Lahore , and is also on the staff of the Association of Kinnaird College. Mrs. Abel has initiated the English Sunday School classes and the young children's English choir is also winning a lot of praises from the congregation.

Dr. Abel has applied his gifts to revitalize the life of the congregation in every possible way. His spirit filled sermons are always appreciated by the congregation and are in line with the legacy of his predecessors. He has shown extra ordinary gifts to generate funds for the by and large renovation of the church compound and the church building itself. He is also gradually leading the congregation toward active participation in creating interdenominational and interfaith harmony, promotion of justice and peace issues, social outreach programs, prison fellowship, and issues of the minorities in Pakistan . Dr. Abel believes that involvement of the church is a necessary part of the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ in the world.
